when - Set your own schedule based on client demand, up to 10 clients per week. We anticipate weekday early morning and evening popularity with some flexibility
pay - $50 - $80 session, capability dependent
where - the canyons in the Salt Lake City area—City Creek, Emigration, Neffs, and Big Cottonwood (you’ll stay at one trail/location per day)

the details:
job specs—
write and carry out individual treatment plans that incorporate various talk therapy methods with outdoor activities.
keep accurate and up-to-date charting of client progress, including session notes, treatment plans, and assessments.
keep yourself and your clients safe.
take care of your mental health—“put your oxygen mask on first,” as they say.
keep yourself physically fit and safe. Be smart about rehab, rest, and training so that you can maintain the required physical activity.
report to the Sr Outdoor Clinician for clinical supervision.
this job is a great fit for someone who—
loves people, loves the outdoors, likes a challenge, and isn’t traditional.
got their master’s or doctorate in counseling, psychology, social work or a related field.
is an LPC, LCPC, LPCC, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of Utah.
has at least 5 years experience in individual therapy in a clinical setting.
has diverse experience in therapeutic techniques and presenting concerns.
is a skilled observer and a wicked sharp communicator.
is experienced in at least one winter and one summer outdoor activity such as hiking, running, snow shoeing, or cross-country skiing.
can keep up a high-quality therapy session while being active.
can commute to the various trail locations.
can be flexible with their schedule.
can adapt to working outdoors in various weather conditions and can be comfortable being uncomfortable.
can move forward and work well with others despite uncertainty.
is CPR and first aid certified (or is willing to get before starting).
